Young Strategic Leaders' Forum Sydney Event

You are warmly invited to the first Young Strategic Leaders' Forum Sydney event, Security Challenges in the South Asian Crescent: Iran and Afghanistan-Pakistan.

General Michael Hayden, Former Director of the Central Intelligence Agency, will address three of the most serious security challenges confronting the West, namely, the nuclear program in Iran and the serious insurgencies in both Afghanistan and Pakistan.

He will discuss frankly the nature of the security dilemmas each of these situations poses and the options that confront Australia, the United States and the other Western Allies.

This special seminar is a unique opportunity to be briefed by a global expert on three of the theatres that could trigger a serious international crisis in coming months.

General Michael V. Hayden, USAF, is a retired United States Air Force four-star general and former Director of both the National Security Agency and Central Intelligence Agency (from which he retired earlier this year).

He is currently a principal at the Chertoff Group, a security consultancy.

Participation at this event is free for young national security professionals, relevant senior personnel and all Kokoda Foundation members.

These special seminars are being designed specifically for those young professionals working within the national security community (generally below 35 years of age) and university students who aspire to work within the Australian national security community.

Relevant senior officials and staff and Kokoda Foundation members are also most welcome.

RSVP: Essential by Monday 16 November 2009, for security and catering purposes.
