UK engineering design and project management group Strachan & Henshaw, recently acquired by Babcock International, has developed a new submarine undercasing acoustic countermeasure launcher system.
Known generically as Kestros, the non-pyrotechnic launch device has already been selected by Spanish shipbuilder Navantia to equip the Spanish Navy’s four new S-80A submarines to replace the Agosta class that have been in service since 1995.
