New partnership for MilCIS
21 Nov 2008
The Defence Chief Information Officer Group (CIOG) has partnered with the University of New South Wales Australian Defence Force Academy for the first time in hosting the 2008 Military Communications and Information Systems (MilCIS) Conference now underway in Canberra.
As in previous years, the conference facilitates a continuing interface between Defence, employees, contractors, industry, customers and UNSW/ADFA to discuss solutions that meet the needs of the warfighter – specifically to discuss current and developing technological capabilities, initiatives, and operational requirements.
The Defence CIO Group is responsible for planning, building, running and governing Information and Communications Technology (ICT) within Defence in terms of infrastructure and support (psst – the November edition of ADM has an in depth From The Source interview with CIOG chief Greg Farr about how the organisation is faring).
