CAE has officially opened their new Canberra office, which will become the company's business development and strategy hub for Australia and the Asia-Pacific.

“Australia is one of CAE’s home markets and the opening of our new Canberra office signals a new chapter in our commitment to the ADF,” Ian Bell, CAE's general manager, Asia-Pacific/Middle East, said. “We will now be co-located with Defence in the heart of Australia’s capital, which we believe will help us be more available and responsive in supporting the training needs and requirements of the ADF.

"CAE has a lot to offer in supporting the training of the men and women of the ADF while contributing to enhancing safety, efficiency and readiness.”

CAE also took the opportunity to demonstrate some of the company’s simulation technologies and capabilities, including a virtual reality (VR) solution of a ground control station (GCS) for remotely piloted aircraft. This training solution can be used for familiarization and procedural training for maintainers and aircrew.

CAE Australia is part of the General Atomics-led Team Reaper Australia pursuing Air 7003.

Minister for Defence Industry Christopher Pyne welcomed CAE’s commitment to further build on the close relationship between CAE and Defence.

“CAE Australia has a long and successful relationship with Defence, with almost 300 staff supporting Australian Defence Force training in more than 20 sites around the country,” Minister Pyne said.

“It’s great they are establishing a footprint here in Australia to really drive their support for the ADF to the next level,”

“CAE Australia is a recognised and capable training systems integrator. They support a range of Defence platforms, including helping use simulation-based training to cost-effectively enhance safety and readiness.

“CAE has made Australia the headquarters of its activities for the Asia-Pacific region. This demonstrates the competitiveness of Australia’s defence industry in the region,” Minister Pyne said.
