General Manager Robyn Collins featured in Ch 9's documentary Coming Home which aired at 4pm AEST on Sat 6 Feb.

Robyn talked about DefenceCare services " We are a safe harbour during troubled times...veterans and their families can come to us. We provide compassionate practical and immediate assistance.. just a helping hand when you need it most and you don’t know who to call."

Formerly known as the RSL Welfare and Benevolent Institution, DefenceCare helps service men and women throughout their lives whenever they are doing it tough and need a helping hand.

They understand that serving in the Army, Navy or Air Force can have a significant impact on health, well-being and quality of life - during and after service.

Service men and women can return from training, war zones or other deployments with physical and mental injuries.

Some can find it difficult to transition to civilian life – finding a new job, dealing with mental issues or worrying about finances. They and their families can experience significant stress and trauma.

Sadly, some members also lose their lives while serving, shattering the hopes and dreams of their families, especially their partners and children.

Our service men and women have made sacrifices to protect our country; it is our turn to give them a helping hand.

DefenceCare’s aim is to help them and their families get through tough times and they will continue helping as long as it is needed. They are always there.

You may leave the Defence Force, but DefenceCare will always be there for you.

DefenceCare understands that each service man or woman’s situation is unique and we aim to help without judgement.

They also promote the support of our veterans amongst the wider Australian community.

DefenceCare is proudly part of RSL NSW.
