Allen-Vanguard announced this week that it has partnered with Macro USA (‘Macro’) to distribute their suite of sophisticated Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs) across Allen-Vanguard’s global markets.

Macro’s three robot platforms are manportable portable units designed to access dangerous and confined spaces, and complete Allen-Vanguard’s portfolio of ROVs to meet the operational demands of users facing ever-evolving threats.

The Macro vehicles are distinguished by their exceptional performance and mobility providing military personnel, police, and security agencies with essential video, audio and chemical sensor information.

The three platforms include the Beetle, a lightweight Nano UGV that can be hand thrown onto a roof or into a window; the Armadillo, a slightly larger and multi-purposed Micro-UGV; and the Scorpion, a robust Small-UGV capable of deploying various secialised tools.

In announcing the agreement, Allen-Vanguard President and CEO Dennis Morris commented, “We are very excited to be working with Macro to present our global customer base with a complete suite of Remotely Operated Vehicles. This combination of progressively capable Small-UGVs reflects the growing need for First Responders to use remotely operated surveillance and reconnaissance tactics in safely managing a wide range of urban threats.”

Macro President, Robert Ramos, continued, "We are very pleased to support Allen-Vanguard and its network of international channel partners in delivering the industry's foremost man-portable Unmanned Ground Vehicles. This relationship will significantly benefit end users worldwide by giving them immediate access to this increasingly vital response capability."

All three vehicles are operated through a common handheld controller, which can relay all its on-scene information back to a command centre for a coordinated response.

In addition each system operates on state of the art ‘COFDM’ communications technology, for crystal clear video transmission, and can be outfitted with Chemical, Biological & Radiological sensors for enhanced data acquisition.
