The Australian Chapter of the Association of Old Crows (AOC) will host its 2014 biennial AOC Australasia Convention in Adelaide at the Hotel Grand Chancellor Adelaide on 18-19 August.

The Australian Chapter Convention is the only combined Electronic Warfare, Information Operations, electromagnetic spectrum (EMS) and Cyber Operations convention in Australia.

The Chapter is on track to provide an innovative and stimulating international convention. Serving the high end of the Electronic Warfare (EW), Intelligence Operations (IO) and Cyber Defence, Security and Resilience communities, this event brings together talent, experience and technologies from every corner of the globe.

Local and international senior leaders, military operators and decision-makers from government and industry responsible for Cyber, EW Information and EMS Operations, definition, specification and procurement are set to come together in Adelaide to discuss the latest developments in EW and related EMS capabilities.

As growth in these capabilities continues to accelerate across several key regions, leading nations acknowledge that EW remains critical to operational effectiveness. Therefore the highly focused convention aims to meet the market need to learn about developments in EW and related EM capabilities, such as Intelligence Surveillance Target Acquisition and Reconnaissance (ISTAR), Communications and Signals Intelligence (COMINT/SIGINT), from international specialists.

The convention will allow local and international industry to explore business and related opportunities in this still expanding market. This market growth is being accompanied by a corresponding growth in requirements for these converging and related capabilities and programs as the leading regional nations recognise and understand the importance of EW, IO and Cyber and the critical roles they play in operational effectiveness and survivability in peace and conflict.

Convention scope
Day one is the Policy day where a range of invited Australian and overseas speakers discuss Australian and International policy and trends in EW, IO, EMS and Cyber.

Day two is devoted to EW, IO and Cyber related technical papers discussing research, future technologies and system developments.

After very positive responses, an additional classified Day three program featuring invited speakers and discussion groups of benefit to the broader Defence community is extremely likely to progress at no additional cost to registrants. More details will be provided as Day three planning progresses.

The convention also includes a trade exhibition featuring companies and organisations showcasing the latest EW, IO and Cyber related research, products and services.
