Defence considers training centre relocation

Defence officials are weighing up whether they should spend more than $40 million to relocate the warfare training centre from Williamtown to Canberra.

According to a report from the ABC, Defence documents released under Freedom of Information say there are limitations with the joint warfare training facility being based near Newcastle.

The documents list concerns such as being 'unattractive' to Defence force members with insufficient transport for visitors.

While the relocation has been raised, Defence told the ABC no decisions have been made about the possible move to Canberra.
