DefenceCare is holding an Employment and Wellbeing seminar for current and ex-serving men and women of the Australian Defence Force and their families on Sunday March 8, 2015 at Penrith RSL Club.

Stepping out of Defence will run from 10am until 2pm and focus on topics such as career choices after Defence, employment opportunities, finance, help for carers and partners, management of pain and mental health issues. It will also feature veterans who have successfully transitioned to civilian employment.

Some Defence personnel can find it difficult to transition to civilian life – finding a new job, dealing with mental issues or worrying about finances. Defence members, past and present together with their families can experience significant stress and trauma.

This seminar has been developed as a direct result of issues experienced by veterans moving out of Defence.

Attendees are welcome to come along for all or part of the day to attend information sessions, visit stalls and speak with industry experts.

Parking is at no charge, next to the venue and children’s entertainment will be available on the day. Penrith RSL Club are generously donating their venue for this event.

DefenceCare is a charity and not-for-profit organisation helping current and ex-serving members of the Australian Defence Force and their families in times of injury, illness or crisis. DefenceCare is proudly part of RSL NSW.

DefenceCare’s aim is to help them and their families get through tough times and will continue helping as long as it is needed.
