Elbit Systems will integrate its Colour Helmet Display and Tracking System (CHDTS) on to a US Navy MH60-S Seahawk test aircraft for a test program and flight evaluation.

The program is part of the US Navy’s MH-60 Sierra’s Improved Targeting System for the Seahawks’ Armed Helicopter Weapon Kits.

The CHDTS will provide the pilots with both night and day capability to see colour flight instrument symbols on their helmet mounted display (HMD) modules while still looking outside the aircraft, improving situational awareness.

The line of sight tracking system also allows the pilots to interact with the flight navigation system and control pilot or copilot slewable sensor systems.

The system also presents a continuously calculated weapon impact symbol for the pilot display, to increase weapon accuracy.
