Kelvin Hughes has appointed prime contractor Australian Maritime Systems (AMS) with headquarters in Brisbane, Australia to act as its sales representative and provide service operations across Australia and New Zealand.

The agreement will allow Kelvin Hughes to increase service and support to its client portfolio across the region, which includes the Royal Australian Navy, the Royal New Zealand Navy and the Australian Border Force.

As a defence distributor, AMS will sell Kelvin Hughes’ SharpEye upmast naval radar systems including the naval tactical radar display software and provide support for existing ship installations of the KH-2007 Naval Transceiver, and other legacy radar systems.

“We have developed a number of synergies with AMS through a commercial relationship that has spanned almost 6 years focused on Kelvin Hughes’ coastal surveillance and port VTS radar systems,” Russell Gould CEO of Kelvin Hughes Russell Gould said.

“We have developed a unique and high degree of Kelvin Hughes specific radar product knowledge and related systems integration capability that reaches from high integrity installations for offshore oil and gas platforms to shore based solutions,” chief marketing officer of AMS Brian Johnson said.
