News Review: Netherlands, France receive first NH90 NFHs | ADM Jun 2010

NH Industries has delivered the first NH90 NFH naval combat helicopters to The Netherlands and France.

The Dutch, French, Italian, Norwegian and Belgian navies have ordered a total of 111 NH90 NFH naval helicopters which are primarily designed for autonomous Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) and Anti Surface Warfare (ASuW) missions.

The Royal Netherlands Navy has ordered a total of 20 NH90 NFH aircraft.

The French Directorate-General of Armaments (DGA) has also accepted the first NFH variant of the NH90 helicopter intended for the French Navy.

It will enter service in late 2011.

France has ordered 27 NFHs.

The French and Dutch NH90NFHs have been delivered in so-called Meaningful Operational Configuration (MOC), also dubbed ‘Step 1'; over the next two years NH Industries will deliver 24 NFHs in Step 1 configuration to France and The Netherlands (seven each): Norway (six) and Italy (four).
