NIOA has been awarded a contract by the NZ Defence Force for supply of approximately 1,900 Glock G17 Gen4 operational and training pistols under the Personal Protection Weapon program.
Under the contract NIOA will deliver the pistols, accessories, spare parts and ILS data to the NZDF.
The Glock G17 Gen4 pistol is the latest generation of one of the most venerable and widely used pistols by professionals in the world, the Glock G17.
The new G17 Gen4 features a multiple back strap system to allow the user to fit the grip to their individual hand size, an enlarged and reversible magazine release catch, a rough textured frame, and a dual recoil spring to reduce recoil and increase life cycle.
“We are very excited that NIOA has been awarded this contract to supply Glock pistols to the NZDF," NIOA managing director Robert Nioa said.
"NIOA has supplied, and provides ongoing support to, in excess of 65,000 Glock pistols in the Australian and NZ military and law enforcement markets."
