Northrop Grumman hosts SME supplier conference

Northrop Grumman Corporation recently hosted an Australian Supplier Conference, for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) looking to position themselves within Northrop Grumman's Global Supply Chain.

Northrop Grumman Australia chief executive, Ian Irving, opened the conference and outlined the opportunities that existed for SMEs within the Northrop Grumman Global Supply Chain.

"Northrop Grumman has a strategy for growing its business in Australia and a key foundation to that is partnering with Australian SMEs to ensure they are able to access the benefits of a supply chain with global potential," Irving said.

"Northrop Grumman values the innovative technical skills Australian SMEs deliver. This is important to us to help grow our own business in Australia, provide opportunities for SMEs on our local programs and engage with the Australian defence industry on opportunities within our global supply chain."

The conference provided information for SMEs about Northrop Grumman's projects and planning across all its business sectors, which include Aerospace, Information Systems, Electronic Systems and Technical Services.

Of particular interest to many attendees were opportunities associated with Northrop Grumman's MQ-4C Triton Unmanned Aerial Surveillance aircraft.

Conference participants were advised about how to express their interest in being part of the Global Supply Chain for the Triton aircraft, through both the acquisition and sustainment phases.

The conference was attended by more than 75 representatives from SMEs across Australia and was held at the Australian War Memorial.
