    QinetiQ Air Affairs (QAA) is the OEM for several aerial target products and provides these services to several global customers. These products and services include the MTR-101 Reeling Machine, Phoenix target drone, aerial tow targets, aircraft underwing Interface racks and underwing pods and associated ground support and test equipment. QAA have extensive advanced manufacturing capability including Machine Shop, Engineering Design, Electrical and Electronics Shop, Fabrication, Welding Shop, processing chemical anodising and full paint shop. The company holds CASA component maintenance and provide a range of associated aviation activities, including airframe modifications.

    Capability Description
    QinetiQ Air Affairs (QAA) is the OEM for aerial target products including the Phoenix Uncrewed Aerial Target (UAT) drone. Developed specifically for Defence training applications, Phoenix UAT provides a mid-performance solution for air defence missile systems and ground-based gun systems. The Phoenix UAT is designed and manufactured in Australia by QAA. The ground control station, drone launcher system and support equipment are also designed and manufactured by QAA. The UAT provides a realistic threat simulation, and enhancements such as MDI, Smoke, and IR can be added to meet the requirements of a wide range of weapon systems and training outcomes.
