    Born from traditional welding processes, AML3D uses additive metal layering or metal 3D printing to fabricate near-net parts in a free-form environment.
    AML3D is the first Australian company to commercialise Direct Energy Deposition (DED) technology using a variant of Wire+Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM), scientific know-how to fabricate commercial parts. The Wire Additive Manufacturing (WAM®) technology and process that AML3D uses for part manufacture is adaptable, challenging conventional manufacture by printing parts faster and more efficiently than casting or subtractive methods while offering stronger material properties and the possibility of part certification.
    AML3D offers customers contract manufacturing services for medium to large scale parts (over 0.5 m) using a variety of metal materials. Additionally, AML3D is the OEM for the ARCEMY® print module. This industrial 3D metal printing system combines smart manufacturing, IoT, and industry 4.0, creating a remotely supported system to print certified stronger parts on demand.

    The first manufacturing facility globally to become certified by Lloyd’s Register for Additive Manufacturing, AML3D has successfully manufactured large scale parts that have been verified and are stronger than traditional manufacturing methods.
    Key advantages of the ARCEMY® for manufacturing include:
    • Reduction of lead time on critical part manufacture. There is no casting required, allowing parts to be printed on-demand with a print time of weeks.
    • WAM® is a certified manufacturing process, using certified wire feedstock for manufacture.
    • ARCEMY® promotes local, smart and green manufacture. Wire feedstock is sourced locally, allowing for manufacture to stay on-shore, supporting sovereign capability.
    • WAM® steel printed parts are stronger than forged*. This is due to the manufacturing process and is supported by NATA testing.
    Cost savings are achieved with Titanium alloys, Nickel alloys, or INVAR due to less material need.
