Silentium Defense has announced the upcoming opening of its US headquarters in Apex, North Carolina. The company will officially mark the occasion at an opening event on Tuesday, 11 August.
The new office will support the company’s growing work with US defence customers and partners.
Silentium Defense’s passive radars, according to the company, improve situational awareness and decision-making by detecting and tracking objects across land, sea, air, and space without requiring dedicated spectrum allocation or emitting signals. This makes them less vulnerable to adversarial detection and disruption.
Since 2024, Silentium has secured multiple US contracts to supply its Maverick and Omniguard passive radar systems and data for multi-domain counter-UAS, Integrated Air and Missile Defence (IAMD), and space domain awareness missions.
The systems are designed to operate independently or integrate with existing infrastructure to strengthen overall situational awareness.
“Our passive radar technology helps resolve some of the most complex sensing challenges in modern defense, and establishing a permanent presence in Apex gives us the foundation to work more closely with our U.S. customers, partners, and the broader allied defense community,” Global Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Silentium Defense, James Palmer, highlighted.
The new Apex headquarters joins North Carolina’s growing defence and aerospace ecosystem and opens with a US team in place, with further recruitment underway.
The company will also announce the new Silentium Defense annual US $1,500 (approx. A $2,129) STEM Scholarship Program for two graduating Wake County NC high school seniors who are pursuing a four-year STEM degree at an accredited college or university.
Silentium’s North American operations are led by Matthew Ratnesar, who was appointed Chief Executive Officer, North America, in May 2026.
“The new headquarters mark a major milestone in Silentium Defense’s long-term commitment to the U.S. market, strengthening access to advanced sensing capabilities for national security and public safety. With its growing defense ecosystem, highly skilled technical talent, and partner network, we are committed to creating value for the local North Carolina community and supporting U.S. defense customers at scale," Ratnesar indicated.
With more than three decades of experience across operational service, defence technology, and senior executive leadership, Ratnesar brings experience scaling mission-focused capabilities for US defence environments.
