Babcock Australasia has opened its first office in Canberra as the company continues to expand its operations in the Australasia region.
Located within Engineering House at 11 National Circuit, Barton, the new office is 'ideally positioned' near Parliament House, key Government customers and industry stakeholders, the company said.
The office primarily supports Babcock’s recent high frequency communications upgrade (JP9101) bid win – the company’s largest contract in Australasia to date – and corporate services.
External stakeholders joined Babcock International Group CEO David Lockwood and Babcock Australasia CEO David Ruff at an opening event last week.
“Our Canberra office opening signifies a coming of age for Babcock Australasia and is testament to our growth in the Australasia region,” said Ruff.
“We’re incredibly proud Babcock has grown to a truly national presence.
“We recognise the huge growth opportunities in Australia and the wider Australasia region, particularly with the once-in-a-generation opportunities from the AUKUS trilateral partnership.
“With a large presence across Australasia and globally, Babcock is uniquely placed to support Australia deliver the capability required to keep the nation and the wider Indo Pacific region safe and secure.”
Lockwood said the Australasia region was critically important to Babcock’s global strategy.
“Australasia is one of Babcock’s fundamental growth engines. Our purpose is to create a safe and secure world, together and we will continue to play a key role in Australia to support peace and stability in the Indo Pacific region,” he said.
