The new Australian corporate headquarters of defence technology and innovation company and F-35 manufacturer Lockheed Martin has been officially opened by Defence Industry Minister Christopher Pyne in Canberra.

Lockheed Martin Australia House is home to Lockheed Martin’s local corporate and business development functions and will also house the Lockheed Martin Endeavour Centre – a purpose-built facility.

“The jewel in the crown of Lockheed Martin Australia House is the Endeavour Centre - purpose designed for customers, industry and academia to embark on partnerships of discovery and overcome any issues together,” CEO Vince Di Pietro said.

Minister Pyne praised the company for its employment of  860 people nationally, as well its contributing to a range of defence capabilities including the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, and the Future Submarine Program.

“Notably, in January I announced this workforce would grow by 200 after Lockheed Martin Australia signed a Design, Build and Integration Contract worth around $700 million for the Future Submarine Program Combat System.”
