In an Australian-first, Nova Systems will deliver a Test and Evaluation (T&E) Advanced Practitioners Course set to equip participants with the skills and knowledge to deliver Defence capability.

The four-week course, developed and delivered in-person by Nova Systems T&E practitioners, is designed to teach participants the latest current and future T&E techniques.

Content delivered will focus on teaching critical skills Australia’s future T&E workforce requires, including scientific test and analysis techniques to test systems-of-systems and joint force assurance.

Nova Systems says it recognises the drive across the industry to increase the amount of T&E that is done in synthetic environments to reduce cost and the time to realise capability. The course will teach T&E practitioners how to apply synthetic modelling and simulation environments in complex T&E programs, and how to validate their results.

“The Nova Systems T&E Advanced Practitioners Course is an Australian-first. Everything delivered in the course is best practice,” said Nova Systems Test and Evaluation Capability Lead Tim Grabert, who is leading the development and the delivery of the new course.

“The course will teach advanced theory of T&E techniques and T&E modelling and simulation using live mission systems during live test scenarios.

“Our most experienced consultants will be delivering the course, all of which have worked on Australia’s major Defence strategic projects, meaning participants will be learning first-hand from people at the top of their field.”

The hands-on component of the course will utilise live mission systems such as Nova Systems’ fleet of remotely piloted air vehicles, where participants can practise their new learnings.

"The advanced training package will not only teach advanced theory of T&E techniques, it will also give participants hands-on T&E modelling and simulation experience using live mission systems during live test scenarios,” said Grabert.

“At the end of the new Nova Systems T&E Advanced Practitioners Course, participants will leave with greater knowledge and experience they can apply to their work every day.

“It will ultimately support our nation with the much-needed capability we require to support keeping our future generations safe and secure.”

The course complements Nova Systems’ training offerings as a Registered Training Organisation (RTO). Nova Systems has delivered in-country training to more than 2,700 Australian technical professionals including the delivery of the nationally recognised Certificate IV in T&E and Diploma of T&E.

Nova Systems is aiming to deliver its first T&E Advanced Practitioners Course in the second half of 2023.
