ADM has officially launched the inaugural ADM 30 under 30 Awards, open to all individuals working in Defence, defence industry or in a defence centred public service role.

We have gathered statements from our sponsors to discuss their connections to the defence industry and why they believe that the under 30 demographic is so integral to the workforce and should be celebrated accordingly.

Bronze Sponsor - Toll

“Toll understands the modern challenges that Defence currently face regarding recruitment and being a career destination of choice. Recognising that various industries encounter similar difficulties in a fiercely competitive talent market, Toll welcomes the opportunity to showcase the rewarding career prospects within Australia's Defence sector.

With the crucial need for growth in the Defence workforce, Toll acknowledges that the under 30 demographic represents a vital source of this expansion. Toll wanted to get on the front foot to celebrate and acknowledge the abundance of young talent across Defence industry in Australia and the new 30 under 30 Awards was the ideal platform to help do that.

As a prominent member of the Defence network, Toll aims to actively engage in discussions that inspire future generations to pursue excellence in Defence-related professions. By supporting the awards, Toll seeks to empower and celebrate emerging leaders, to establish connections and foster a network of like-minded individuals within the Defence sector.

Driven by a commitment to fostering innovation, diversity, and excellence within the next generation of leaders, Toll is very proud to be sponsors of the inaugural 30 under 30 Awards, and excited that nominations are now open!”

Bronze Sponsor - Viasat

"Viasat is a global communications company that believes everyone and everything can be connected. We are proud to sponsor the 2023 Australian Defence Magazine 30 Under 30 Awards.

For more than 30 years, Viasat innovations have helped shape how the ADF and partner militaries around the world communicate. Our integrated defence satellite communications, tactical networking and cybersecurity solutions provide a uniquely holistic approach that delivers inherent performance advantages. We offer a range of multi-band, flexible SATCOM terminals and EW-resistant networks that help Defence achieve resilient, end-to-end communications across domains and missions.

We recognise the importance of the under 30 demographic to the Defence workforce because our business needs – and those of our Defence customers – continually evolve. We typically look for revolutionary thinkers, disrupters, and go-getters; the under 30 workforce is critical in this respect.

We surround our veterans (over 23% of our global workforce), engineers, technologists, and support staff with a culture of innovation, entrepreneurship, agile defence technology development, and non-traditional business models to empower them to push the limits of innovation."
