Outside the Defence White Paper and Integrated Investment Plan, the replacement of the RAAF’s Special Purpose Aircraft (SPA) fleet is also to be decided this year.
A Commonwealth Request for Proposal (RFP) for the selection of a Managing Contractor closed on February 19, with optional Request for Tender (RFT) quality data to be submitted by November 1. The managing contractor is tasked with providing an ‘innovative’ solution to the SPA requirements and is likely to select a mix of platforms to fulfil those requirements.
