SA newspaper The Advertiser has reported the resignation of the CEO of DCNS Australia, the company charged with delivering Australia's Future Submarine under Project Sea 1000.

Sean Costello resigned on Friday barely a year after DCNS was announced as the successful contender for the $50 billion program.

Costello had worked previously as a ministerial advisor to former Defence Minister Senator David Johnston and prior to that at ASC as executive general manager.

DCNS said in a statement personnel changes such as this during the life of such a lengthy program were normal and that it is confident it can  “deliver a regionally superior submarine that realises the government’s ambitions for a sovereign submarine capability”.
