ASC has been selected to provide sustainment support to visiting US Navy Virginia Class submarines at HMAS Stirling in Western Australia from 2027.
Up to four US nuclear powered submarines are expected to rotate through HMAS Stirling in Western Australia alongside a single British Royal Navy boat from 2027, as part of Submarine-Rotational Force West (SRF-West).
The work will help ASC gain expertise and experience working on Virginia class vessels before Australia takes procession of its own Virginia class boats in the early 2030s, ahead of ASC and BAE Systems Australia delivering the first Adelaide-built SSN-AUKUS class vessels in the early 2040s.
