Australian Defence Magazine is delighted to announce that nominations are now open for the Women in Defence Awards 2024.

It’s time to nominate your colleagues for well-deserved recognition of their personal achievements and their contribution to the wider mission of defence. The nomination form is available here, and entries close at 4pm (AEST) Friday 31 May.

Visibility and recognition matter. The mission of the Women in Defence Awards is to inspire young women to pursue careers in Defence and defence industry - which they are more likely to do if they see other women working and succeeding in the area.

Diversity is critical to addressing the workforce shortage dragging on Australia's defence capability ambitions. A workforce that is artificially limited in size will subsequently put artificial limits on defence industry capability.

If you know a female colleague who deserves recognition, or if you are proud of the contributions you personally made in the 2023 calendar within the defence community, we encourage you to fill out the nomination form using the link above.

This year’s award ceremony will take place at The National Arboretum, Canberra, on 17 October 2024. It will be our 7th annual ADM Women in Defence Awards event, a fantastic evening that grows and evolves every year as we see inspiring women recognised for their efforts.

Check out our helpful tips and tricks from our entry information session for crafting the best possible entry for our judges to look at. We look forward to reading your entries and continuing to recognise the incredible contributions of women to a flourishing defence sector.

A big thank you to our Headline Sponsor Downer, Gold Sponsor Hanwha Defence Australia, Silver Sponsor Babcock, and Bronze Sponsors Leidos and Precision Public Affairs. Your support makes these events possible.
