Time is running out to nominate your colleagues for the Women in Defence Awards (WIDA) 2025. With only days to get your nominations in, we want to celebrate the amazing 2024 achievements of the women working in Defence and defence industry, but we need you to tell us about them!

The nomination form is available here, and entries close at 4pm (AEST) Friday 30 May.

Visibility and recognition matter. The mission of the Women in Defence Awards is to inspire young women to pursue careers in Defence and defence industry - which they are more likely to do if they see other women working and succeeding in the area.

Diversity is critical to addressing the workforce shortage dragging on Australia's defence capability ambitions. A workforce that is artificially limited in size will subsequently put artificial limits on defence industry capability.

If you know a female colleague who deserves recognition, or if you are proud of the contributions you personally made in the 2024 calendar within the defence community, we encourage you to fill out the nomination form using the link above.

This year’s award ceremony will take place at The National Arboretum, Canberra, on 15 October 2025. It will be our 8th annual ADM Women in Defence Awards event, a fantastic evening that grows and evolves every year as we see inspiring women recognised for their efforts.

Check out our helpful tips and tricks from our entry information session for crafting the best possible entry for our judges to look at. We look forward to reading your entries and continuing to recognise the incredible contributions of women to a flourishing defence sector.
