Unmanned Patrol Squadron 19, consisting of only Northrop Grumman MQ-4C Tritons, has been officially formed and will soon operate out of Naval Air Station (NAS) Jacksonville, a first for the US Navy according to the United States Naval Institute.
USN director of air warfare Rear Admiral DeWolfe Miller said the official formation of the Navy’s first unmanned squadron begins a long process for early operational capability and deployment to the US 7th Fleet in 2018.
