The first students to enter training under the UK Military Flying Training System (UKMFTS) program arrived at Royal Air Force (RAF) station Barkston Heath on June 20 to train as Royal Navy (RN) Helicopter Observers.
Six students are beginning the course, which is delivered by Ascent Flight Training, with four weeks of ground school before Initial Flying Training and Elementary Navigation Training on 703 Naval Air Squadron (NAS) Grob 115E aircraft.
