Barrett Communications has announced its acquisition of specialist tactical radio manufacturer Q-MAC Electronics.

Q-MAC Electronics will continue to operate in its own right, providing specialist tactical HF and VHF radio solutions.

As a result of the acquisition, Barrett Communications will shortly release a range of 30-88 MHz tactical VHF products to complement its PRC-2090 HF tactical communications system.

QMAC will eventually be merged into Barrett Communications at Barrett's new headquarters presently under construction in Perth.

Martin Johnson, Business Development Manager, Barrett Communications, said, "The combined operation of Barrett Communications and QMAC Electronics will provide our existing customers with a fuller range of products and the continued international support to which they have become accustomed".

Barrett Communications is a well-established Australian company, which has focused its activities for over 30 years in the field of HF communications.

The company's high-quality radio systems are in widespread international use by humanitarian aid and relief agencies and national governments.

The company is based in Perth, Western Australia, with regional offices in the UK and the USA.
