Exail has announced the launch of production of the sixth steering console for the JangBogo III program. This contract has continued a partnership of more than ten years with the Korean Navy.
“Building a steering console is both a technological and human challenge. Each delivery demonstrates the excellence of our expertise and the dedication of our teams,” Product Manager, Mohammed Tounsi, said.
Since 2014, five complete consoles have already been designed, produced, and delivered by Exail. The construction of the sixth system will begin in 2026, with commissioning planned for 2027.
These advanced piloting systems have been built around Opsys, the integrated computer developed by Exail, which serves as the system’s intelligence core. According to the company, each unit’s development has mobilised nearly two years of work across Exail’s electronics, software, mechanical, and integration teams.
“In July 2025, the fourth pilot station was successfully commissioned. The teams validated all interfaces with the submarine’s other systems, confirming the robustness and reliability of the solution," Tounsi stated.
