Lockheed Martin has completed its acquisition of Ultra Maritime, a global defence company specialising in advanced undersea warfare and anti-submarine warfare (ASW) capabilities for allied naval forces.
The company develops and delivers mission-critical systems including sonar technologies, sonobuoys, torpedo defence systems, radar solutions, electronic warfare and autonomous maritime sensing platforms.
"Securing the undersea domain starts with giving sailors the tools and confidence to find, track and deter threats that put ships and crews at risk," Rotary and Mission Systems at Lockheed Martin, president, Stephanie Hill, said.
"This is more than an acquisition – it’s a commitment to unite the best of our technology, capability and people to meet our partners’ urgent and growing demand for undersea warfare capability worldwide.”
Ultra Maritime’s international footprint and portfolio of ASW products for allied customers, such as its sonobuoys, towed sonar arrays and hull mounted sonar product lines, will complement and expand Lockheed Martin’s ability to offer sonar solutions across next-gen maritime platforms.
The Ultra Maritime business is aligned under the Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems business area.
