The Swedish Government have announced a SEK 500 million (approx. A $74.1 million) in state co-financing for Swedish companies seeking EU funding through the European Defence Industry Programme (EDIP), specifically targeting bottlenecks in explosives and ammunition production.
Sweden Ballistics (SWEBAL) is one of five companies guaranteed this state co-financing, with its project focused on increasing production capacity for explosives. The company is building a new TNT production facility in Nora to address this bottleneck and strengthen domestic and European security of supply.
According to the company, this Swedish state support will help de-risk the investment and unlock EU funding for a strategically important new source of TNT production capacity in Europe, strengthening SWEBAL’s market position.
