The construction of HQJOC has won the National AIPM Project Management Achievement Awards for the Best Construction Projects over $100 million.

The team behind the project was made up of Praeco, a consortium established by Leighton Contractors and ABN AMRO, plus Thales and Codarra Advanced Systems who played a pivotal role in the consortium delivering the IT systems in the high-tech facility.

This project was outstanding because of the complex interaction between the users, its enviable OH&S record, and its on-time delivery.

"The HQJOC project was an outstanding success because of the way in which Codarra and the Department of Defence staff worked as a close-knit team to deliver this project to a very tight deadline," Warren Williams, Managing Director of Codarra, said.

"This project was an excellent example of Defence and Industry teamwork.

"Moreover, our success in delivering this on time is testimony to both our project management and systems engineering processes and the calibre of our staff."
