The Department of Defence has a requirement for the provision of 20 ballistic blankets to be used in operational
scenarios to provide protection for personnel and be utilised in shielding applications from small arms fire.
The Ballistic Blanket comprises a single hand held Ballistic Blanket that will enhance existing personal protection of users, and is capable of being draped over or wrapped around hostages to provide ballistic protection from specified bullets and blast related shrapnel and flying debris.
Additionally, the Ballistic Blanket will have provision to allow the swift joining of two or more Ballistic Blankets, giving it the ability to be rapidly adjustable in size from single person protection to two or more persons.
The Ballistic Blanket should also be readily adaptable to provide temporary vehicle protection both internal and external via rapid fitment without the use of special tools.
