Air New Zealand’s Australian-based aerospace engineering services company TAE has purchased Tenix Aviation Pty Limited, following the purchase of Masling Industries Pty Ltd in November.

Tenix Aviation is based in South Australia, while Masling Industries is located in Cootamundra, New South Wales.

Air New Zealand General Manager Technical Operations Chris Nassenstein said the two purchases were part of Air New Zealand’s continued diversification: “Both of these purchases represent the support by Air New Zealand to further develop and grow the successful Australian TAE operation that was started by Air New Zealand in 2000.”

Tenix Aviation has been involved in the provision of aviation repairs and maintenance since 1964.

The business currently employs 60 staff and is headquartered at Adelaide Airport, South Australia.

In addition, Tenix Aviation has a presence at Parafield Airport, South Australia and Darwin, Northern Territory.

Tenix Aviation will be known as TAE Aviation and will continue its successful aviation maintenance facility providing gas turbine, airframe, avionics, propeller component and spare parts services.

Masling Industries is a well-established operation specialising in component overhaul and repair of gas turbine engine accessories for helicopters and up to medium sized aircraft from its workshops in Cootamundra, New South Wales.

Masling Industries currently employs 11 people and TAE’s purchase will ensure continued growth of this business in Cootamundra under the Masling Industries brand.

TAE General Manager Andrew Sanderson said that both Tenix Aviation and Masling Industries were an excellent fit with TAE and complemented its existing businesses.
