Eden Technology Pty Ltd - a privately held Australian software company specialising in IT solutions and related services for law enforcement, security, defence, maritime, and asset management - has formed an alliance with Memex Technology Limited of Scotland, a leading provider of software for the law enforcement, defence intelligence and commercial fraud markets worldwide.

The alliance is a two-way relationship, allowing Eden to introduce Memex's intelligence software to the Australian market while providing a United Kingdom outlet for Eden's own law enforcement software, known as GEMS (General Evidence Management System).

Memex was the first company in the world to develop search technology specifically for the intelligence community. Its software is now used by leading law enforcement agencies such as the Metropolitan Police Service, the British Transport Police, New Jersey State Police and the Polish National Police.

"The Eden/ Memex alliance is a significant step in Eden's expansion program," says Eden's General Manager Business Development, Alan Rankins. "Not only does it provide Eden with entree to the large and potentially lucrative UK market, but it gives Australian security and law enforcement agencies access to a suite of proven integrated intelligence solutions designed specifically for use in this ever-changing and extremely
