Milestone for RAAF navigation trainers
Hawker Pacific Pty Ltd has achieved a significant milestone in its on-going contract with the RAAF for the supply and maintenance of seven Beechcraft Super King Air 350 Turboprop aircraft to undertake navigation training.
The milestone came in the form of the RAAF Airworthiness Board issuing an Australian Military Type Certificate and Service Release on the King Air 350 (B300) Aircraft.
Hawker Pacific's Chief Executive Officer, Alan Smith said the issuing of the AMTC represented a significant milestone in Hawker Pacific's on-going delivery of the key RAAF navigation trainer contract.
"Not only was the AMTC issued exceedingly promptly but, as I understand it, this is the first time in recent history that a new RAAF aviation acquisition has received a Service Release without caveats," he said.
Under the minimum 10-year contract, Hawker Pacific will provide a total fleet management support package including maintenance, design engineering, project management, logistic supply and management, quality assurance, training and also flight operations support where required.
"This is more than just a lease and modification of seven aircraft. The company has entered into a value-added contract to provide all elements of support for the platform over the next 10 years. It also demonstrates the operational flexibility provided by the Super King Air 350 in a variety of roles including maritime surveillance and training", he said.
