New name and structure for Tenix

Australia's biggest locally-owned defence contractor has changed its name (slightly) and re-structured to align itself with the acquisition divisions of the Defence Materiel Organisation (DMO).

Formerly Tenix Defence Systems, the re-named Tenix Defence has four divisions: Aerospace, Electronic Systems, Land and Marine. The major change is in the Marine Division, which brings together the administration of Tenix Defence's shipyards in Williamstown, Victoria, and Henderson in Western Australia.

The $6 billion ANZAC Ship Project, formerly the responsibility of a separate division in its own right, has been brought back into Tenix Defence and is managed as a separate project.

The changes follow the appointment in July of Robert Salteri as Chief Executive Officer of Tenix Defence. Harley Tacey, who had been acting CEO, is now Executive General Manager, Strategy and Development.

Tenix Group Managing Director, Paul Salteri, said the move was aimed at focussing the company more closely on its customers. "The change to the divisional structure is important, because it aligns Tenix Defence to the structure of the Defence Materiel Organisation. This will enable us to serve our customers better, and improve efficiency and communications," Mr Salteri said.

Separately, a Tenix Industries Pty Ltd company, Enetech, which provides commercial engineering and technical services to private and public sector customers, has been re-named Tenix Alliance Pty Ltd.
