Hawker Pacific is excited to announce it will perform an economy run from Alice Springs to Sydney in the newly arrived Diamond DA42-NG ‘Twin Star’.
This is to demonstrate not only the excellent range of the DA42-NG, but also illustrates the remarkably low fuel burn of the aircraft.
“We are targeting a fuel burn of 39.4ltrs per hour total for both engines, which would equate to crossing half of our continent on just $500 of Jet A1," said Tony Jones, senior vice president, Aircraft Sales and Flight Services Group.
"If Hawker Pacific is able to achieve these figures it will be a resounding endorsement for this cutting-edge technology.”
A country-wide demonstration tour showcasing the Diamond DA 4NG and the DA 40CS is planned for early next year.
The DA42-NG is available with larger fuel tanks that have a range of 2000kms with a 60% power setting at 9,000 feet, with a fuel burn of only 39.4ltrs per hour total (for both engines).
This next generation aircraft is renowned for its extreme range, equipped with twin Jet A1-powered AE300 turbo diesel engines produced by Austro Engine GmbH, makes it perfectly suited to cross country travel.
Hawker Pacific is the appointed distributor for Diamond Aircraft throughout Australia and New Zealand.
