Unisys Australia has selected AAPT and Adacel Technologies as core members of a new team to bid for the Defence Systems Design and Integration Panel, a significant component of the Department of Defence's strategy for the acquisition and deployment of IT systems.

Unisys selected Adacel and AAPT because they are large and expanding Australian and New Zealand companies and complement Unisys local and global defence expertise.

"By joining forces with AAPT and Adacel, Unisys has formed a team with complementary technical and management skills to design and deliver information systems specific to Defence needs. The team members have detailed knowledge of the defence environment and are experienced in delivering tailored solutions to complex organisations," said Allen Koehn, General Manager Public Sector, Unisys South Pacific.

In conjunction with the announcement of this partnership Unisys has also launched an SME subcontractor program to facilitate local IT & T growth in the public sector. Unisys believes that, through this SME program, it can deliver potentially more than 30 per cent of the revenue generated through the Defence Systems Design and Integration Panel to Australian SMEs.

The program will also identify local products and services with global applications that Unisys can take to international markets.
