Babcock Australasia has announced the appointment of Peter Newington as Director, Aviation and Critical Services with effect from 1 August 2022.

Newington has a 'strong track record' as a leader in the aviation and critical services sector, currently serving as General Manager – Strategic Projects at CareFlight where he is responsible for the delivery of patient transfer services, aerial firefighting, international jet patient retrieval and rapid response specialist clinical helicopters. Prior to joining CareFlight, Newington was the Chief Executive Officer with Hevilift in Papua New Guinea.

“It is exciting to have a leader of Peter’s calibre joining our team," CEO of Babcock Australasia, David Ruff said.

“Peter’s appointment will strengthen Babcock’s commitment to delivering outstanding service to our customers and the communities we serve across Australia.”

Babcock is Australia's largest provider of rotary wing emergency services and provides emergency medical service, law enforcement and search and rescue aviation capability for customers including the Australian Border Force, the State Rescue Helicopter Service in South Australia, Queensland Health and Ambulance Victoria.
