The Bangladeshi Army has bought 200 radio manpacks from SA company Codan Radio Communications.
The multimillion dollar deal aims to improve the quality of Bangladeshi portable communications. The Patrol 2110M manpacks are compliant to MIL-STD-188-141B ALE, FED-STD-1045 ALE, and offer digital voice, interoperability with commercial and other military grade radios, frequency hopping, and voice encryption capabilities.
The batteries support 50 hours of use with a three metre whip antenna.
The manpacks made by the Adelaide-based company are likely to be used in post-disaster recovery efforts and in the Bangladesh Army’s United Nations peacekeeping missions in Africa.
Codan Radio Communications will be conducting in-country training and support for the manpacks in the coming months.
