Glen Ferrarotto, an Afghanistan Veteran who served within the Special Operations Task Group, has bought back the company he founded, Melbourne-based Ironside Recruitment.

Ferrarotto successfully negotiated a majority share acquisition with Aspen Medical in 2016 and is now once again the sole Shareholder.

Glen founded Ironside Recruitment in 2012, which at the time was Australia’s first dedicated Recruitment Agency for ADF personnel transitioning to new careers across industry. He recognised a unique opportunity for Australian companies to capitalise on the specialised skill sets, national qualifications, leadership qualities, team and safety-driven culture of the veteran community.

Ironside is currently transitioning from being a dedicated Recruitment Agency for veterans, to what will be a leading employer of veterans, providing workforce solutions across the Mining, Health, Defence and Logistics Sectors around Australia. The company will trade under a new name, Ironside Resources.

“The business has transitioned from what was a challenging almost sole trader-like situation to what is now a mature, credentialed award-winning company with its own heartbeat,’ Ferrarotto said. “Aspen Medical has been a great supporter of our business and we’ve learned a lot from the company’s Executive Chairman and Founder Glenn Keys and his team."

According to Glenn Keys AO, “Aspen Medical has been incredibly proud to have played a part in the growth and success of Ironside Recruitment, a company that has been enhancing the lives of Australian Veterans for many years.

"We wish him and his team well as they forge ahead as an independent entity and we’re looking forward to working alongside Glen and his team for years to come.”

Ironside Recruitment has placed thousands of veterans in jobs across Australia including industry leading programs for ex-ADF tradespeople transitioning into the Resources and Mining sector.

Over the past 12 months the company has played a key role in the response to COVID-19, providing a workforce that has been supporting pathology testing teams and aged care providers in Victoria and NSW.
