Logistic Engineering Services (LES) was recently awarded a three-year contract to provide Logistic Support Analysis (LSA) Foundation training to the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG).

"The knowledge and experience of LES has been recognised through a sole sourced contract for 15 courses to be delivered Face to Face or virtual classroom," the company said in a statement. "This contract also enables CASG to engage LES to delivery other specialist ILS Courses from its suite of courses already being delivered to defence and defence industry. Over the three year contract it is expected that up to 240 Defence/APS personnel will receive this essential training."

The course is designed to provide participants with an understanding of LSA within the Capability Life Cycle and how it can support and improve the outcomes required for defensible acquisition decisions and development of an optimised support system.

"LES has been delivering Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) and LSA training to Defence and Industry for over 15 years and it is this knowledge and pre-existing courseware that CASG identified as providing the requisite training," the company said.

LES instructors have conducted numerous successful LSA for sea, land and air projects over the last 20 years.

"LES recognises the ongoing demand for Specialist ILS personnel and the lack of training currently available," the company said. "In the last 12 months we have seen a dramatic increase in demand for our courses having delivered training to over 260 personnel in 2020 under COVID restrictions and a further 76 personnel trained in 2021 to date.

"LESĀ are working to expand our suite of courses to ensure that we continue to grow overall sovereign capability that is essential for all acquisition and sustainment programs. We will also be focussing on supporting Naval Shipbuilding College to realise the training needs of the many suppliers to the shipbuilding program who have identified their shortfalls in skills and knowledge of specialist Materiel Logistic competencies."

The LSA Foundations Course is available for delivery across defence industry.
