Shoal Group announced yesterday that defence and energy professional Paul Greenhalf has joined the growing team based in Adelaide to lead Shoal’s operations in Australia and New Zealand.

Shoal Group says that Greenhalf brings over 15 years of global experience in commercial, engineering, operations and project management roles within the defence, aerospace, energy, civil construction, and engineering consulting sectors, most recently at Babcock International Group, Clarke Energy, and UK firm BAM Nuttall.

Greenhalf is charged with leading the corporate operational functions of Shoal Group to ensure 'a cohesive and integrated approach across all of our businesses', according to the company.

Shoal Group CEO welcomed the newly formed Chief Operating Officer role, which reflects the growth of the company over the last few years.

“This is an exciting year for Shoal, as we expand across the country and further into New Zealand across defence, space, transport and infrastructure,” CEO of Shoal Michael Waite said.

“Paul’s experience in major defence and aviation programs complements our corporate leadership team and brings a new dynamic to the business.

“From a perspective of continuous improvement and project management, we are now even more strongly positioned for growth.”

As COO, Greenhalf's leadership focus will be on management of finance, health and safety, environment, IT and quality, and Shoal Group's supply chain.

“I am thrilled to be joining the Shoal team to help achieve the vision of being an iconic company in systems thinking,” Greenhalf said.

“As an engineer, I appreciate Shoal’s investment in people, processes and tools to build knowledge through a systems approach that delivers real capability and benefits to our clients.”

Paul Greenhalf commenced on 28 February and joins Shoal’s Corporate Leadership Team.
