BMT Design and Technology is officially changing its name to BMT Defence and Security, trading simply as BMT.
The change has been made to better align the name with the company’s capability in Australia.
“BMT is the world’s leading, independent, maritime design and engineering firm and it is important our branding reflects this,” BMT Managing Director, Peter Behrendt said.
“For our customers and staff, BMT means complex science, technology and engineering in defence. The word BMT stands alone to represent all of these things,” Behrendt said.
“Practically speaking, there will be no change to our team or the work we do and we will continue to focus on delivering the best in maritime design and engineering,” he said.
“BMT has invested for the future in Australia. In 2018 we have opened an office in Adelaide and almost doubled our headcount. We now have over 50 employees.
“This is only the beginning and our name change, though small, signals our intent to be in Australia for the long term,” Behrendt said.
