Leonardo Australia has announced that the Essendon Fields Service Centre in Melbourne, VIC, has received CASA Part 145 approval from the Civil Aviation Safety Authority.

The CASA Part 145 Maintenance approval is an enhanced regulatory standard based on Safety Management System (SMS) aimed at achieving the highest level of aviation safety performance.

The approval will enable Leonardo Australia to pursue opportunities expanding its level of services. The company says the aim is to attract commercial operators offering deeper level maintenance and safety.

“We are proud of this achievement, which demonstrates Leonardo Australia’s commitment to the highest safety and training standards for its customers and employees," Giorgio Mantegazza, Managing Director of Leonardo Australia, said. "This approval is the result of hard work and efforts of the Australian team and represents further evidence of the in-Country investments of Leonardo.”

Leonardo Australia currently supports a fleet of over 110 commercial and military products for more than 30 customers within the Oceania region.
