Aurecon has been appointed as the inaugural Australian-based Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance Enterprise Partner by the Department of Defence, recently attending a ceremonial signing of the deed.

This partnership is designed to help achieve the Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance Enterprise objectives, with initial focus on establishing the enterprise, supporting the definition of requirements, and developing a range of options for consideration by Defence.

According to the company, Aurecon will initially have a focus on enterprise infrastructure, including options and integration into Defence Estate, as well as related capabilities such as storage and distribution, asset management, and test and evaluation.

The company has confirmed it is seeking expressions of interest from individuals and/or other entities to collaborate and support in delivering outcomes.

“It is a crucial time for Australia, Defence and our industry, and the underlying motivation to accelerate progress is paramount," Damon Howes, Managing Director, Defence and National Security at Aurecon said.

“We seek like-minded companies and individuals to reach out. We can’t do this all by ourselves and nor do we wish to – our focus is on the outcome.”

In April, Raytheon and Lockheed Martin were chosen to deliver the $1 billion sovereign GWEO Enterprise.
