The Australian Defence Force (ADF) has awarded Serco Australia a new four-year contract to provide dedicated medical and dental equipment support, with specialist medical kitting and management of maintenance services.

The new Medical & Dental Equipment Support Services contract, valued at $25 million, will commence 1 July 2022, and includes three one-year extension options, continuing Serco’s more than 20-year-long partnership with Defence as their partner for this capability.

Currently operating alongside the ADF at Joint Logistics Unit (East) Moorebank, NSW, Serco provides medical and dental logistics support for all ADF operations as well as peace-time training exercises and activities.

Serco Defence Managing Director Clint Thomas said the contract win emphasises Serco’s commitment to providing the ADF with 'high quality and high value service delivery solutions'.

“The last two years have been incredibly challenging for the nation as we have battled with natural disasters and an enduring global pandemic, yet our support and delivery for the ADF at home and overseas during these critical periods has never wavered,” Thomas said.

“We have worked in partnership with the ADF for more than two decades to deliver consistent and reliable health capability outcomes, which are needed now more than ever, and this new contract award demonstrates Defence’s confidence in Serco.

“I am incredibly proud of our dedicated team at Moorebank who continue to provide outstanding service and look forward to continuing our support for the ADF as their trusted partner well into the future,” Thomas said.
