The LandĀ 400 Phase 3 Australian Industry Capability roadshow nomination form has now been released. The roadshow will occur in March and April 2020 across all Australian capital cities and selected regional centres.

The Mounted Close Combat Capability (LAND 400 Phase 3) project is a multi-billion dollar project scoped to acquire up to 450 Infantry Fighting Vehicles to replace the current M113 Armoured Personnel Carriers and up to 17 Manoeuvre Support Vehicles to enable Army to undertake combat operations in a joint environment. This project will provide exciting opportunities for Australian companies to contribute to the production and support of an advanced world class Infantry Fighting Vehicle capability.

In September, Hanwha Defense Australia and Rheinmetall Defence Australia were announced as the two shortlisted tenderers invited to participate in the second stage of the tender evaluation, the Risk Mitigation Activity.

A key component of the Risk Mitigation Activity is facilitated engagement with Australian industry. Defence will work with shortlisted tenderers to maximise opportunities for Australian industry participation to deliver an optimum AIC.

Similarly to Land 400 Phase 2, Defence will facilitate a joint AIC roadshow with Rheinmetall Defence Australia and Hanwha Defense Australia. This will provide companies across Australia with the opportunity to showcase their capabilities and provide Hanwha and Rheinmetall with the opportunity to identify local small and medium enterprises able to contribute to their supply chains.

The roadshow is currently intending to visit: Townsville, Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Newcastle, Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Geelong, Hobart, Adelaide, Perth and Darwin. The sequencing of the roadshow will be completed as demand for each location is identified, with additional regional locations added if required.

To be a part of this exciting opportunity, Australian industry is encouraged to access the nomination form and provide details in the required fields before submitting their nomination to LAND400Phase3.AIC@defence.gov.au.
